Tips for Choosing the Right Size

1. Make a List of What You're Storing

Before choosing a unit, list your large items (beds, sofas, appliances) and estimate how many boxes you'll have. This gives you a baseline to work from.

2. When in Doubt, Go One Size Up

The step up from our A Unit (8×10, $89/mo) to our B Unit (8×14, $110/mo) is about $21/month. Having extra space means you can actually access what you stored without unloading the whole unit. It's usually worth it.

3. Think About How You'll Use the Space

If you're storing items you'll need to retrieve regularly, leave an aisle. If you're packing a unit wall-to-wall and won't need access, you can fit more in a smaller unit. Drive-up access means you can load and unload with a vehicle right at the door.

4. Store Heavy Items on the Bottom

Appliances and furniture go against the walls. Boxes go on top, with the heaviest on the bottom. Label boxes on the sides so you can see what's inside without moving them.

5. Take Advantage of Vertical Space

Our units are approximately 8 feet tall. Stack boxes, use shelving, and stand mattresses vertically to maximize the space you're paying for.

Size Guide FAQ

What fits in an 8×10 storage unit?

Our A Unit (8×10, 80 sq ft) fits the contents of a 1–2 room studio or small apartment: sofa, chairs, queen mattress, dresser, small table, and 15–20 boxes. It's our smallest and most affordable enclosed drive-up unit.

What size storage unit do I need for a 2-bedroom apartment?

Our B Unit (8×14, 112 sq ft) is typically the right fit for a 2-bedroom apartment — enough room for furniture from both bedrooms, the living room, and kitchen boxes without cramming. If you have a king-size bed or large sectional sofa, the C Unit (10×20) gives you more breathing room.

What fits in a 10×20 storage unit?

Our C Unit (10×20, 200 sq ft) is the size of a one-car garage. It fits the full contents of a 3–4 bedroom home, large appliances, and even a small vehicle. It's also popular with contractors and businesses that need to store equipment.

Is it better to get a bigger storage unit?

In most cases, yes — especially if you'll need to access items during your rental. The extra space lets you leave an aisle, stack properly, and find things without unpacking. The price difference is small compared to the frustration of a unit that's too tight.

Do I need climate-controlled storage in Florida?

Florida's heat and humidity can affect electronics, wood, leather, documents, and art over time. Our concrete block units significantly reduce temperature and humidity compared to thin metal-panel facilities — but if you're storing extremely sensitive items long-term, consider what they're made of and how long they'll be in storage.
